Historically, trade has always been at the heart of Glasgow’s success. In the 16th century the city was an important trading centre. Many of its streets and monuments celebrate this heritage.
Today, UK and international trade is again at the heart of Glasgow’s growth, and attracting the right businesses and talent to Scotland’s largest city is an essential part of that success.
Glasgow’s International Financial Services District (IFSD) was set up as a hub for these businesses in 2001. Since then, it has expanded from a square kilometre to link with Glasgow’s city centre. It includes many financial services and corporate headquarters from The Weir Group Plc, PwC and Royal Dutch Shell to Santander and JP Morgan.
BAM is contributing to this expansion with a new high-quality mixed-use development on the River Clyde waterfront.
